Onitsuka Tiger flagship store is located in the heart of the latest fashionable district of 'Negen Straatjes' in Amsterdam on the Herengracht 356. After Paris, London and Berlin, this is the fourth Onitsuka Tiger Store in Europe. Famed for its innovative sporting products and Japanese design, Onitsuka Tiger Amsterdam, will showcase the full range of shoe collections and apparel ranges in a typical Japanese environment.
Japanese architect Atsushi Suzuki from Formation Tokyo designed a store, stamped by high-quality materials and intriguing design-elements. The store impresses with its linear design and repsresents an enhancement on the original Onitsuka Tiger store in Tokyo. In 1949, Kihachiro Onitsuka established Onitsuka Tiger, the forerunner of ASICS. An idealist, he wanted to promote youth health through sports. Regular consultation with sportsmen and their coaches helped him to make the best sports shoes in Japan. From 1951 onwards, the shoes have played a part in most major Marathons and Olympic games.
The legend continues today. Based on the original sports shoes, Onitsuka Tiger combines its unique Japanese heritage with contemporary design. Years and years of sports experience has been fused with Japanese tradition to create a collection of shoes, apparel and accessories that reflect the spirit of Onitsuka Tiger.
