Already renowned as one of the most charming hotels in Amsterdam, the Ambassade Hotel recently opened its French restaurant Brasserie Ambassade. Diners can enjoy gorgeous views over the World Heritage protected Herengracht canal while enjoying classic French cuisine prepared by head chef Erik Zonjee in this charming 17th Century canal house restaurant in Central Amsterdam.
The Brasserie Ambassade is laid out across the floors of three interconnected canal houses and was designed by Spanish architects Cruz y Ortiz (who also oversaw the recent renovation of the Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum).
Guests can enjoy all the classic French dishes including Confit de Canard, Côte de Boeuf and a good choice of vegetarian dishes. The Brasserie has a comprehensive wine list with some interesting New World wines to complement the wide choice of French wines. The emphasis is on seasonal and artisan produce. The dishes and wines are competitively priced.
Brasserie Ambassade showcases the Hotel Ambassade’s impressive collection of CoBrA art works. CoBrA is an avant-garde art movement active from 1948 to 1951 and encompassing Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam.
Enjoy an aperitif or a nightcap at the impressively literary Library Bar, which has over 4,000 books each one signed by the author.
Brasserie Ambassade serves breakfast and dinner with lunch served on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 12.00 pm and 3.00 pm.
