Not only do they offer you a unique dining experience but there's also the
so called Wines & Bites Bar: It's a small bar that offers you a selection
of freshly made 'bites' (tapas) and different kinds of wines and champagnes that
you can sample and of course beers from the tap. It is perfectly suited for
those who take pleasure in tasting small dishes, just to stimulate their appetite
or just leave it at that and simply enjoy a nice glass of wine or for those who
just want to make a quick stop to join up with the incrowd and taste not only
the goods but also the Amsterdam atmosphere. The bar also has a small terrace.
Interestingly - this bar, allthough new, is kept in the old Amsterdam style. Damsteeg
is just a five minute walk from the Dam Square and some three minutes from the
Anne Frank House and can easily be reached by all means of public transportation.
Parking is possible just around the corner, either at the Europark in the Jordaan
or on meters on the Prinsengracht. ' Damsteeg' the owner is always
present to welcome you, and has created a homely diner. On display is the
cheese board and a wine rack that boasts 55 different wines, perfect for wine
tasting - with their house wine at 21 euros. Damsteeg is a grand restaurant reminiscent
of a French brasserie, that has a relaxed and warm ambience that invites you all.
