The privately owned Ambassade Hotel exudes a charm and elegance entirely consistent with its origins. Ten 17th Century canal-side ‘merchant houses’ make up this historic hotel, which stands on the imposing Herengracht in the heart of Amsterdam. The canal houses have been carefully restored to maintain their authentic character and all 59 rooms and suites have been stylishly furnished and decorated.
Each
room has its own unique character and specific charm. The furnishings are predominantly Louis XV/XVI style with modern accents in the form of original paintings by contemporary Dutch artists.
The hotel’s extensive modern art collection has the avant-garde COBRA movement as its focal point, featuring artists such as Theo Wolvecamp and other prominent Dutch and foreign artists.
Also worth highlighting is the Ambassade’s renowned library, which showcases a collection of over 2000 books, each one signed by the authors during their stay at the Ambassade Hotel!
Guests can enjoy a traditional and extensive breakfast, served in the beautiful breakfast room with wonderful views over the Herengracht.
